WINE & VINEYARD
Herbert Vineyard is owned by Mount Gambier locals, David and Trudy Herbert. David and Trudy planted their 2ha vineyard in 1996, mainly to Pinot Noir with the intention of selling the grapes to local winemakers.
It wasn't until 2003, when the frost had destroyed their primary fruit, that they made their first wine with the secondary fruit.
In 2006, a two-level mini-winery/Cellar Door was constructed, overlooking an impressive 1300m2 hedge maze which was planted in 2000.
Presently, David and Trudy make 4 wines from their own fruit, namely Pinot Noir, a sparkling Blanc de Noir, a Rosé and two different styles of Pinot Noir.
Over the years, their Pinot Noirs have been awarded medals from a number of wine shows and have been consistently written up in Wine Journals.
The Cellar Door is open by appointment.

Dinyarrak olives are harvested at early ripening and cold pressed to squeeze out the juice from the olives. The resultant oil is fresh and produces robust fruity oil with peppery finish.
The oil is ideal for dipping in bread, dressing salads, drizzling over a roast, or as a fantastic base for herbal pesto or dip.
