De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate

De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate at Dixons Creek is home to the winery, Cellar Door, Cheese Shop and Locale restaurant.

First planted in 1971, the vineyard is now planted to 170 Hectares of predominantly Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Recent new vineyards of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Gamay Noir have been established and are looking quite spectacular. The soils are sedimentary in origin and are known as Humevale Siltstones. The wines produced from these soils are quite aromatic and have very good depth of colour and flavour. The vineyard is managed by Rob Sutherland and the winemaking is run by Harry Clegg, Sarah Fagan and Andrew Bretherton all with the help of their dedicated staff. 

The Cellar Door and Locale Restaurant are located in the visitor centre and have a wide range of premium wine produced on the various estates, as well as some exclusive wines that are only available on site. 

The Cheese Shop is a fantastic tourist attraction with its own onsite maturation room offering an interesting range of local and imported cheeses.
