Chateau Tanunda

Established in 1890, Château Tanunda Estate is an icon of the Barossa Valley and described as one of the best wine estates and Châteaux around the world.

Visit Château Tanunda’s Cellar Door for a wine tasting in the heart of the historic and atmospheric cellar amongst hundreds of barrels of maturing wine and see why our cellar door experience is rated amongst the top things to do in the Barossa Valley on Trip Advisor.

Our regional platters are a great way to make the most of the Château’s beautiful gardens and croquet lawn.   Select a bottle of wine to match, sit back and enjoy the stunning views of the Barossa Ranges. Our cheese plates and platters are made with a range of local cheeses, dried fruit, quince paste, smoked meats and olives.

There are plenty of reasons to visit Chateau Tanunda's Barossa Cellar Door, so whether your interest is in award winning wines, iconic architecture, history or even a relaxing game of croquet, there really is something for everyone.

A Wonder of Australia

| June 2018

Wow what a place. I visited the Chateau with owner John Geber the fist year after his family purchased the property. It was full of dust and promise. What a great job they have done over the years. The Chateau is now one of the Wonders of Australia. You have to go to see it for yourself and the wines - some of Australia and the world's best. I must go back soon.
